About

cropped-dad-logo1.pngA retired engineer, I returned to Pittsburgh, my hometown, in 2007. As a young man, I had learned the trades from my dad. I have also always loved finding solutions to interesting problems. Upon my return to Pittsburgh, I purchased a turn-of-the-century house in the historic Pittsburgh neighborhood of Bellevue. It needed a lot of restoration, and many rooms I took down to the studs to ensure the building was up to modern code. After many years of love and work poured into the house, I found the time to help others with restoration, renovation, and DIY upgrades, often fixing problems that had confused even the most skilled of worker.

In 2018, we decided to relocate to the beautiful mountains surrounding Johnson City, TN.   I have decided to spend more time with my family and doing community volunteer work.  I have hung up my tool belt and effective January 2019 am no longer operating Fix-it-Frank.
